just finished my 1st ever draft, and yes i lost my queue list of players, i reset, refresh, many times to no avail, i got a ' for my players in rounds 11 & 12, yeah i got nothing so what ever happened to still taking my top player from my queued list or the systems rated player list, finally it started working just before my pick in round 13, but i had to click on player in system list to move to my queue list, so i had a real party to have to keep going all thru the system list before my next pick, but in the end not bad i think, now i have to go add 2 players that i lost , that's live drafts, not just here, can happen in any site, glitches, freezes or whatever eh, ha, looking forward to playing, and for bowling, i used to bowl but now i use the oil for cooking, ha, ha, and the only pins i see are on the golf greens, no foul line to worry about too, and no more slippage cause i have spiked shoes, but happy bowling boys. you all sound like pros !

I would go with either buchholz or billingsley, I lean on Buchholz a bit, but i like both. In the long run it's buchholz you would want to keep, he's a future #1 starter. Billingsley is a #3 starter maybe #2 starter if he can control his walks a bit.

For the $250/entry-$1600 prize game the winner grosses $6.40 per dollar spent and CDM grosses $650 for running the game. For the old $300/entry-$2000 prize game the winner grossed $6.66 per dollar spent and CDM grossed $700 for running the game. Talk about a lose-lose situation!!! I was planning to play six of $300 level teams figuring one winner would let me come out $200 on top. Now my six teams only give me $100 with just one winner. CDM also gives up $300 of my money. Whichever genius came up with this idea should be fired.

Yeah, its always something every year. The problem is that there isnt enough competition out there to make them have to improve the way they run things. I suggest heading over to the NFBC website and checkout their games. They actually run things with the customer in mind over there.

Summary of Rule Changes for 2008 Baseball Games

DIAMOND CHALLENGE (diamondchallenge.fanball.com): There are two changes to this game. (1) The starting line-up pitcher requirements are now 6 starting pitchers, 3 relief pitchers, and 1 swing pitcher. The swing pitcher can be any pitcher. A shift move is used to move a swing pitcher to his appropriate SP or RP position in the starting lineup; and (2) The cost of shift moves has been reduced from $2 each to $1 each. Based on the results of the survey, the distribution of pitchers has been changed, but free agents will not be eliminated.

FANTASY BASEBALL 2008 (ptsbaseball.fanball.com): There are no changes to this game.

INTERNET CHALLENGE FANTASY BASEBALL (internetchallenge.fanball.com): There are two changes to this game. (1) The starting line-up pitcher requirements are now 6 starting pitchers, 3 relief pitchers, and 1 swing pitcher. The swing pitcher can be any pitcher. A shift move is used to move a swing pitcher to his appropriate SP or RP position in the starting lineup; and (2) The league size has been reduced from 25 teams to 10 teams. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st place ($400) and 2nd place ($100) in each league, and FanPoints (see below for more information) will be awarded to 1st through 5th place in each league.

BUDGET BASEBALL (budgetbaseball.fanball.com): There are no changes to this game.

HIGH ROLLER FANTASY BASEBALL (hrbaseball.fanball.com): There are two changes to this game. A shift move is used to move a swing pitcher to his appropriate SP or RP position in the starting lineup; and (2) Although the entry deadline is Saturday, March 29, at 12 Midnight CT, you can make unlimited, pre-season roster changes after the entry deadline and until 6 PM CT on Sunday, March 30.

FREE FANTASY BASEBALL (freebaseball.fanball.com): There are three changes to this game. (1) Cash prizes have been increased and are now over $35,000! The overall prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are $5000, $2500, and $1000 respectively. The division prizes are $1000 for 1st, $500 for 2nd, $250 for 3rd, $100 for 4th, $50 for 5th, and $25 for 6th through 10th; (2) 10-team leagues have been added and FanPoints (see below for more information) will be awarded to 1st through 5th place; and (3) If you do not select the players for your team within 24 hours of entering, an automated roster will be generated for you. During the pre-season, you may make unlimited changes to this lineup.

DRAFT AND PLAY FANTASY BASEBALL (dpbaseball.fanball.com): Same game as last year but the levels of play have been modified as follows:

1. COPPER: Enter for $10 and compete for a free $10 entry
2. BRONZE: Enter for $25 and compete for a $100 1st Place prize and a free $25 entry 2nd Place prize
3. SILVER: Enter for $100 and compete for a $600 1st Place prize and a free $100 entry 2nd Place prize
4. GOLD: Enter for $250 and compete for a $1,600 1st Place prize and a free $250 entry 2nd Place prize
5. PLATINUM: Enter for $500 and compete for a $3,000 1st Place prize, a $600 2nd Place prize, and a free $500 entry 3rd Place prize
6. DOUBLE PLATINUM: Enter for $1000 and compete for a $6,000 1st Place prize, a $1,500 2nd Place prize, and a free $1000 entry 3rd Place prize

For customers who won a free $300 entry last year, they will be given a free $250 GOLD entry and $50 credit on their CDM/Fanball account that can be applied to future entry and transactions fees. This $50 credit cannot be redeemed for cash.

In addition, the draft time has been extended from 60 seconds to 75 seconds. In each round, you will have up to 75 seconds to draft your player. If you are on auto-draft, however, DRAFT AND PLAY FANTASY BASEBALL will select your next player as soon as it is your team’s turn to draft and will not allow the 75 seconds to expire.

FANBALL REWARDS PROGRAM: In January, we will be launching the Fanball Rewards Program. Whenever you spend money with CDM/Fanball, you will earn FanPoints that are redeemable for a variety of items from game entries on Fanball.com to gift cards for national retailers. In addition, FanPoints will be awarded as prizes in all national Fanball fantasy sports games – including all the fantasy baseball games listed above. There is nothing for you to do or fill out – FanPoints can be earned by all customers of CDM/Fanball. Further details of the Fanball Rewards Program will be available soon.

Baseball salaries will be available on Friday, December 14.

I think TOPGUN nailed it right on the head....Imagine being in a BIG money league. This would all be very frustrating. For 25.00 I can live with it but if this were one of the high dollar leagues I would be pulling my hair out. I have been playing CDM games for years and I just have to say this year has been pretty hard to take with all the problems etc. I have an old Army buddy who has like 20-30 teams and he is not a happy camper dumping that kind of money into this. I knew the rules when I grabbed Clemens last week as a free agent in league #11; when I saw he was claimed on waivers in two other leagues, I used the tools available to get a FA and saw that Clemens was "available". I added him to my roster! Of course, this move was reversed as it was againts the rules and could be voided without problems. Just like you, I also got a few players early in the season while they were in minors (Phil Hughes and Ryan Braun). I knew it was againts CDM rules but, like you said, they were "available". The problem CDM has at this time is that those moves were done in the first six weeks or so when their system allowed them. I can imagine the mess in their databases if they try to reverse all these moves!

Clemens was available to 'Claim' in week 6 and again in week 9 incorrectly. CDM should have never made him available to claim. Each time the transactions that were made were reversed. However, today(5/31) he is once again available to 'Claim' and I do not believe he should be. He is not yet on a major league roster! Hopefully, CDM will realize their error and not make him available until he has been added to the Yankees active roster.

I believe the reason Clemens was available to draft prior the start of the season is because he was on Houston's roster at the end of 2006. Therefore he could be drafted in NL or mixed leagues. In fact he was drafted in one of the NL only leagues I am in. However, he is not on the NY Yankees active roster or 40 man roster and should not be available to 'Claim' as part of the waiver pool until he has been activated. CDM, please correct Clemens status!!! Thanks.

Rascals---No prob, here's a long one back. Actually the CDM people are working on fixing many of the probs, guess we can't get em all fixed at once but at least they are working on them. I'd suggest either post the probs you see on the "suggestions" board or even better send them an email (make it nice and you get better results) :>)

Hi "Numb" Not familiar with Sandbox and based on your remarks,not sure I want anything to do with them either. Sorry for the e-novel but I really found D&P to be what I wanted and although it had a few wrinkles it was great. I didn't find out about the ownership change until too late and when I did ....well voila my e-novel. At the risk of going ballistic again it seems as though the "Suits" tried to take short cuts and left important decisions in the hands of Computer Programmers instead of baseball savvy people. The end result was that the "Suits" took an "I'll get the ideas, and you can work out the details" approach leaving some poor underling to be the fall guy if things went wrong. If you are familiar with a service that is a better alternative to D & P please pass it along. Once again to you as well as the other owners my apology for the long winded ranting. Bill

Rascals----Yep, the new system is lacking. That's what happens when a new company takes over and switches to their system. New one is a Sandbox league manager (I'm pretty sure anyway) and if you're familiar at all with Sandbox that will explain why it's lacking.

My fellow D&P team owners. I have spent the past few minutes reading your grievances with the "New CDM" and share your concerns. Just one request...lets stop argueing amongst ourselves and take our arguements stright to the "Suits" at CDM. Maybe with some luck we can get back the D&P quality we once used to get. This is my letter to the "Suits" Please join me by writing a letter of your own. Dear CDM or A Few Word To The Wise I have visited the BBS portion of the Draft & Play site, and I'm very concerned over the displeasure expressed by long standing members/customers. Many of the issues expressed reflect my own concerns. Your service no longer provides what it did the past several years. Transaction history is no longer available, in it's entirety as in the past. The identity and email info of league members as it used to be is no more. Each time I try to do what I used to do I find that something else is missing. What happened to the names and contact info of the other team owners ? There has been a change in "Ownership" at CDM Sports, and as is so frequently the case you new guys are looking to cut cost. You attempt to do this by cutting back on services and that allows you to cut back on staff. It is not long before the "House Of Cards" affect takes root, Customer Service is what makes a successful company click, and what is the first to be sacrificed when success has been achieved and the "Suits" start looking for a place to cut corners. Draft and Play was a wonderful idea and why you felt it was necessary to fix that which wasn't broken mystifies and angers me, because it seems quite apparent that your intent was to take advantage of a loyal customer base and give them less so that you could make more money. You might want to think through some of your actions. As an old stock trader let me remind you of what happened to Michael Dell and his company when they dropped the ball on Customer Service. They were so deafened by the sound of sales being rung up that they missed the pitter-patter of feet heading for the exits.

Way to muster up 3 runs in the last 4 games (this season looked so promising after the first week). Note to the Red Sox: give Daisuke some freakin run support!!! Youre giving every other pitcher run support. OK, the real reason I'm posting a comment, is to ask for a chat room, or message board for each league, which would make it much more personable and fun. CDM, would you be able to pull this off??

Bad Hops - I've submitted this problem a few days ago and I got an answer today saying : "At this time the only way to IR a player is to do a waiver claim or free agent pickup". In your case, you have to get a replacement player to put Ryan on IR and drop a different one to activate Garcia.

You cana't figure out why the other runner would not get credit for a SB? That's like saying why doesn't a batter get credit for a hit when they throw to second to force the runner out but he makes it to first. Geez, is it that complicated? Tracy - How do you place someone on the IR from your active roster without picking up a new player? For example, to make roster switches, I had to drop a player because Tankersly was coming off the IR & there wasn't any option in line up switches to place Bard on the IR. Thanks.
